Missions

The Elmwood Community Church is truly a “community” church, by actively participating in many ways to help those who are less fortunate than others.

South Park Inn

We serve dinner at least six times a year at the South Park Inn Shelter. Up to 120 homeless men, women and children are treated to a hot meal with dessert, sometimes Shepard Pie, macaroni and cheese, soup or something just as tasty. Sandwiches and other foods are prepared by members of our congregation and brought to the shelter.

Habitat for Elmwood

Each year with coordination with the Town of West Hartford Social Services, we provide a worthy home owner or family with some much needed service.

Elmwood Cleanup Day

In the spring of each year we host a Spring Cleanup Day. Participants are given a vest, gloves and a garbage bag and set out to pick up all the trash they can find around our community.

The Mitten Tree

Each Advent season we put up a Mitten Tree and decorate it with kids mittens, hats and scarves. Then we donate it to a child services organization.
